An AI interview may be a recorded video prompt, a voice conversation or an early screening step. The format can feel unfamiliar. The safest response is not to memorise a perfect script. It is to make your real examples easy to retrieve and speak them naturally.

1. Know what you are being asked to do
Read the invitation carefully. Confirm the deadline, expected format, time limit and whether you can practise. Test your microphone, camera, connection and lighting before the day. Use a neutral background and keep your notes out of sight unless the employer says otherwise.
2. Build answers from evidence
Find the capability underneath the question.
Name a moment where you changed a view, outcome or direction.
Use your own language, not a borrowed paragraph.
Keep the setup concise. Explain your personal action clearly. End with what changed and what you learned. If the story has no genuine result, do not manufacture one.
3. Sound prepared, not performed
Pause before answering. Look at the camera when you can. Speak a little slower than normal. Avoid reading full sentences from a screen. A short, specific answer beats a polished speech that does not sound like a lived experience.
4. Practise the uncomfortable questions
Choose the questions where your evidence is thin, not only the stories you enjoy telling. Prepare how you will answer honestly if you have not faced the exact situation. A thoughtful adjacent example is stronger than a forced match.
