Deloitte Interview Intelligence

Questions built for your practice at Deloitte, each with a guide to structuring the answer against your own experience.

The final round is reported to include a group case with five distinct, timed stages: assigned into a group of three to six, ten minutes to read the case alone, twenty minutes of group discussion while interviewers watch, then twenty minutes of individual questioning.

That structure sits alongside a separate thirty to forty five minute one on one case and a thirty to forty five minute behavioural interview in the same final round, reported to be run by more senior staff with a heavier weight on cultural fit and coachability than the first round screener.

4

Bring one real story for each

Built from Deloitte’s own hiring materials and common patterns for the role. Not affiliated with Deloitte.

02 / Hiring process

Five stages, and one of them decides it

5 stages from application to offer. Application and psychometric assessment is reported to be the one that decides it.

5stages

01

Application and psychometric assessment before any human contact

An online application paired with a psychometric assessment, reported to run before a recruiter is involved for most practices.

02

Preliminary screening recruiter

A screening conversation confirming background and basic fit ahead of the case rounds.

03

First round case structured and quantitative

Reported to be primarily a screener: interviewers check that you can actually work through a case and show the potential to do this as real work, with the case itself more structured and numbers heavy than the final round's.

04

Final round behavioural, case, and a group case

Reported to run three parts with more senior interviewers: a thirty to forty five minute behavioural interview, a thirty to forty five minute one on one case, and a group case where a group of three to six candidates gets ten minutes to read the case alone, twenty minutes to discuss it while interviewers observe, then twenty minutes of individual questioning.

05

Partner interview and decision career fit, then an offer

A shorter, more conversational round with a partner focused on career fit, reported to still factor into the final decision rather than being a formality after everything else is settled.

Ask before the interview: what will this round cover, who will I meet, and is there anything I should prepare? The question almost nobody asks

03 / Question library

Interview question practice library

The assessment, the case rounds and the four values apply across every practice, so the core set below covers that ground. Each practice then adds the technical depth specific to it.

01 Why Deloitte, and why this practice specifically? Motivation Open guide

Find your angle. Opens the preliminary screen. A generic answer about Big Four prestige says nothing about fit for the specific practice applied to.

Build your answer

  • Name something specific about the practice. A service line or a real piece of work, not the firm in general.
  • Connect it to your own background. Why this specific area suits what you've actually done.
  • Say what you want to build here. A concrete skill or path, stated plainly.

Bring the evidence

One concrete, checkable fact about the specific practice tied to something real about your own background.

What weakens it

Deloitte is a globally respected firm with strong career growth.

02 A retail client's regional stores are underperforming the national average. Where do you start? Case structuring Open guide

Find your angle. Tests real case structuring under the candidate led format the first round screener is reported to run.

Build your answer

  • Ask one clarifying question before structuring anything. About the business, not a generic industry question.
  • Propose your own structure aloud. State it as your framework, don't wait to be handed one.
  • Ask for the specific data your structure needs next. Not a general request for more information.

Bring the evidence

A specific clarifying question asked first, a self proposed structure, and a targeted data request driven by that structure.

What weakens it

I'd ask what data is available so I can look into the underperformance.

05 / The four values

What is actually being scored

Deloitte publishes four shared values in this exact language. Bring one real story for each rather than a general answer about wanting to work at a Big Four firm.

4stories

Serve with Integrity

A time you protected someone's trust in you even when a smaller, easier version of the truth was available.

Outstanding Value

A time you delivered a result a client or stakeholder didn't expect, not just what was asked for.

Commitment to Each Other

A time you looked out for a colleague's development or wellbeing, not just the task in front of you both.

Strength from Cultural Diversity

A time a genuinely different perspective changed a real decision, not just made a meeting feel more inclusive.

06 / Before you apply

Where candidates lose it

Pro Where candidates lose this before anyone meets them

The part of the process that eliminates most people is not the interview. It is what happens around it, and almost none of it is written down anywhere.

  • The assessment answers that read as dishonest rather than confident
  • What the availability question is really deciding
  • The application detail that cannot be edited once submitted
