Company interview guide
Questions candidates report being asked for your role at Google, each with a guide to structuring the answer against your own experience.
A candidate can pass every interview and still be rejected by a committee that was never in the room.
The hiring committee reviews only the written feedback, scored against the same four attributes as everyone else, and can return Hire, No Hire, or Discuss regardless of how the loop felt.Reported questions

Background, motivation, and level fit. Some technical and early career roles also get an online assessment before this call, separate from the interview loop itself.
A deeper conversation about the role, and for technical roles one or two coding questions. For TPMs this screen often carries a technical or leadership focus that gates entry to the final loop.
Role specific technical, product, or program rounds mixed with behavioral interviews. Every interviewer scores you independently against the same four attributes, without seeing anyone else's notes first.
Interviewers submit written feedback, then a committee that never met you reviews it against the four attributes and returns Hire, No Hire, or Discuss. A strong loop does not guarantee a hire here, and this is the stage that eliminates candidates who cleared every interview.
An approved hire without an assigned team then does short calls with hiring managers who have open headcount. The match can stall or fall through even after committee approval, particularly during a hiring freeze.
Ask before the interview: what will this round cover, who will I meet, and is there anything I should prepare? The question almost nobody asks
03 / Question library
Google scores every interviewer against the same four attributes: Role-Related Knowledge, General Cognitive Ability, Leadership, and Googleyness. The core set below is asked in some form across every loop; each role then adds the technical or program rounds specific to it.

Find your angle. Opens almost every loop and is scored as much on delivery as content. Interviewers are listening for something specific to Google rather than a reason that would fit any large tech employer.
One concrete, checkable detail about the product or team, tied to something real in your own history.
Google is innovative and has great culture. True of every tech employer and answers nothing.

A specific stakeholder, a specific ask, and a resolution that did not require someone above you to step in.
I stayed calm and professional. Says nothing about what you actually did.

04 / In the news
The strongest answer to why this company is something that happened last month.
3stories
Stories screened from everything published about this employer, chosen because they can be used in the room rather than because they are recent.
05 / The four values
Every interviewer scores you against the same four attributes, and a hiring committee that never met you weighs the write ups afterward.
4stories
The narrowest of the four and the most obvious to prepare for. Depth in the tools and concepts your specific role actually uses, not general intelligence.
How you reason through an unfamiliar problem out loud. Weighted the heaviest of the four, and tested inside technical rounds as often as behavioral ones.
Emergent leadership without a title. A time you moved a group toward a decision when nobody had appointed you to.
Comfort with ambiguity, intellectual humility, and a bias to action. Scored on past situations, not hypotheticals.
06 / Before you apply
The part of the process that eliminates most people is not the interview. It is what happens around it, and almost none of it is written down anywhere.
